Eating hay

We were shooting engagement photos at a barn out in the country. Jonathan was holding lights and I was shooting, so neither of us could hold Giovanni for a few minutes. I sat him down on a pile of hay and before I new it he was trying to eat it. Of course. Silly little country boy.

Joy

Nothing makes me happier than seeing this little guy smile. We were just killing time today, so I thought I'd take some pics of Giovanni in his birthday suit.

Visiting Pablo

Susanna, Giovanni, Jonathan and I went to visit our good friend Pablo in Nashville at the beginning of the week. It was good to see Jonathan's old roommate again. Nashville is closer than I realized, so hopefully it won't take us too long to make the trek next time.

Giovanni was very interested in touching the trees on our walk. Pablo gave him a stick and he shook it around with joy like it was the best present he'd ever gotten.

Vacation at Vero Beach

We had an awesome time at the beach last week.  Giovanni did pretty well on his 10 hour car ride both there and back.  We went down on a Friday, which happened to be cow appreciation day at Chick-fil-a.  So we got free meals for breakfast and dinner.  Yum!  We also got ice cream twice (really three times if you count the ice cream we got for the freezer).  Double Yum.

At the Pool!

Giovanni and Julia loved the pool.  We ended up swimming almost every morning even before breakfast and then a couple more times every day.  It was really fun seeing how much the kids enjoyed the pool.

At the Beach!

In spite of his apparent happiness in every one of these pictures, Giovanni did not like the beach.  He didn't like the ocean and he didn't like the sand.  So we ended up hanging out at the pool most of the time.

Getting Ready for a Hike (and some cute pics of Amos)

Here is Jonathan and Giovanni getting ready to hike at our favorite place:  Davidson-Arabia Park.  It's huge, and they have fantastic walkways and woodsy paths.

And here's some more pics of cute little Amos sleeping.  Julia came up to give him a hug for the camera, but he wasn't too happy about it.  So I'm just posting the sleeping pictures!

Hike

We took a hike the other day and tried out our Kelty baby carrier.  Giovanni loved it.  It lets him see what's going on well.

It wasn't long, though, before he fell asleep.  I think all the movement of Jonathan walking lulled him to sleep.
And here's us back at home.  We don't get many pictures of the three of us together, so it didn't matter to me that it was one of those hold the camera away and point it at yourselves shots.  I love it!

Baby Amos

Our new nephew, Amos Nehring was born a little more than a week ago now, but I'm just getting around to posting that long ago!  We got to go visit in the hospital.  While we waited for him to get ready for visitors, we hang with the rest of the Nehring fam- Julia was hilarious.  She just wanted to press all the bed buttons over and over.
