Giovanni's First Flight

Here's G's first airplane ride- we were on our way to visit the Partin Grands in Arkansas.  He also met his first famous person- we were sitting right behind Chris Allen and his wife, Katie.

Almost sitting up

I think he could do it, if he would just be satisfied to sit and not lurch forward at any solid object that might go into his mouth.

Enjoying the outdoors

Here's our little guy enjoying being outside.  He loves to be in very little clothes and to be outdoors.  I'm sure he's going to love summer!

Mother's Day

Okay, I'm finally getting around to posting some pics from Mother's Day.  We spent it with the Cipolla clan in LaGrange.  Good times.

Takin a family walk.
Due at the same time.

The Big MB

In college, I had some friends that referred to anything bad as "the big MB".  When I asked them what MB stood for they told me it was "monkey buttocks".  Well, here's our own little monkey buttocks.

One of those two friends was Andrei Constantinescu, who gave Giovanni this little monkey that ooh ooh ahhs.  The other was Nguyen Nguyen who is about to have a little monkey of his own.

Un-bear-ably cute...that's right, I said it

We got this cute hat from Jeremy and Trista, and I realized that I didn't have any pictures of him in it and it's already too small.  So I stuck it on his head anyway and shot a few.  It's still sooo cute.

Open Mouth...Insert Foot

I snuck up on Giovanni when he was trying to get his foot in his mouth.  His two favorite things most recently are sticking his foot in his mouth and turning over.  He turns over, cries for me to turn him back over, and when he gets back onto his back IMMEDIATELY turns over again.  What a monkey!

Little Cowboy

This is an outfit Jonathan had when he was just a tot.

Gramps

My parents came over from Arkansas for the Easter weekend.  It's funny- last time they came I only got pictures of my mom with Giovanni and somehow this time I only got pictures of my dad with him.  We had a good time- very relaxing, and we got to go down to see my great Aunt Lily.

Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb is a fantastic book.  I highly recommend it for little ones.  It has a good rhythm that I think they like, and it's not too long for a baby's attention span.
Yea!  I love my dad and my baby!

The Nehrings visit and Giovanni transforms once again into Yoda

The Nehrings came up to visit since we're all on Spring Break.  Julia is such a nut.  She put on these crazy stockings that went to a chicken outfit, but wouldn't put on any other part of the costume.  Here Jonathan was pretending to be asleep, she snuck up to tickle him and he made a loud laughing sound that she thought was hilarious.

We were trying to show Joanna and Nick Giovanni's new costume.  It's funny- I think Giovanni got as much a kick out of it as Jonathan did.  He kept of laughing.
I mean really, have you ever seen a cuter little jedi?  Click on the image to see it larger- he's sooo cute!

A Little Patch of Earth

So we finally started our garden.  Or, as you can see Jonathan started it while Carm took care of our baby and I took pictures and generally avoided work.  I didn't want it to be too big, since I am still not convinced that I have the commitment necessary to take care of a large garden.  But we picked a couple of things (onions, zucchini, squash, pumpkin and sugar peas) and put them in the ground.  I actually am quite excited.
Giovanni didn't seem quite as excited as he was nearing nap time.

I'm most excited about the Giant Pumpkin.  Jonathan keeps telling me not to get my hopes up, but I'm holding out for a pumpkin the size of the one on the seed package.  I want a pumpkin so big I can make 20 pies out of it and use the leftover rind to make a wagon for my kid (jk).

Just out for a stroll

He doesn't look like he's having fun, but he really likes riding in the stroller.
Honestly...I'm not lying!

Four Months Old!

Giovanni is 4 months old today!  The good news is he's growing like a weed- 25" and 12lb 9.5oz.
The bad news is he got his 4 month shots today, so he's in a bit of a bad mood.
But I did manage to get a couple pics of him in his crib before he took his nap (that lasted all of 35 minutes...) to commemorate his turning 4 months.

Isn't he sweet.  I don't know how two knuckle heads like Jonathan and I got such a sweet boy!
